SPLENDIDO ISOLAMENTO

There are people, especially old women, on the island of Carloforte, in Sardinia, who never reached certain points of the island. Beautiful panoramic views never reached by a carlofortina have been recorded to partially give her back the experience of a place through the mediated vision of the place itself. The image of the moving landscape proposed on the television screen in the house of Vincenza becomes an observatory to experience the place in a different way. Television is an integral part of the daily experience of this woman who becomes a window that overturns the point of view bringing her gaze outside. For these people, the village becomes like an island on the island where the tendency towards isolation is strong, towards the landscape.

The project was realized during the period of Residenza d'artista Carloforte curated by Simona Andrioletti and Alessandro Mazzatorta.​

Ci sono persone, soprattutto donne anziane, che sull’isola di Carloforte, in Sardegna, non hanno mai raggiunto certi punti dell’isola. Bellissimi punti panoramici mai raggiunti da una carlofortina sono stati ripresi per restituirle in parte l’esperienza di un luogo tramite la visione mediata del luogo stesso. L’immagine del paesaggio in movimento proposta sullo schermo della televisione di casa di Vincenza diventa un osservatorio attraverso il quale esperire il luogo in maniera differente. La televisione è parte integrante dell’esperienza quotidiana di questa donna che diventa una finestra che capovolge il punto di vista portando il suo sguardo al di fuori. Per queste persone il paese diventa come un’isola nell’isola in cui è forte la tendenza all’isolamento rispetto al paesaggio.

Il progetto è stato realizzato durante il periodo di Residenza d’artista Carloforte curato da Simona Andrioletti e Alessandro Mazzatorta. ​
